At the risk of wandering further off the path, I have a creative process question for you. Do you use AI to create your songs? If so, at any point in the process does the music come through your body, ie. your voice or playing an instrument. We are all so different, I’m just curious if that’s the case and what that feels like for you. I’m a visual artist and have always needed to feel the clay in my hands or hold the pencil or brush. I have not been able to easily connect to the flow when creating in a digital space.

I think that gets to the core of my question. You could leave them as poems but it’s clear you feel pulled to give them form in music. I’m glad you follow that pull (I think we all should) but my experience with the product of AI (particularly AI art) is that it is formulaic…it is alogrithmic after all. Where is the soul stuff? Do you feel like you come through in the structure that AI produces? I don’t know much about the process so maybe it is more fluid and “conversational” than I’m imagining. If it is a 2-way street than it must be, I’m just curious if you can articulate how. Maybe it’s difficult to express…and no worries if that is not a thread of thought you wish to explore.

As to the forum policies, I personally think conversations like this should be public. Others might have thoughts we can all learn from. I understand the need for structured conversation, but people are messy and don’t fit into boxes. And the end result of a meandering conversation can be as beneficial as one laid out with well planned arguments and bullet points. Discovery happens in different ways. That is more just a general comment on the forum, not necessarily your choice to move this to PM. I shouldn’t have mentioned the forum policies in my public post. Probably wasn’t an issue unless you as the OP thought my questions were off topic.

I appreciate that you’ve carved out a space for yourself in this forum. I think it gives others freedom to do the same.

yeah, I just felt a little uncertain due to the “strictly law of one” section, Patrick has been very generous with giving space for my shenanigans in the other parts of the forum, I usually stay out of the strict part as I’m not comfortable in that tone, but it felt like the most appropriate place for that project

just some thoughts on the subject, If you approach something as soulless that will probably color your experience of it as such, I have a little “if anything is spiritual, everything is spiritual” approach, If I can connect with stones, crystals and trees, why not computers? it’s all intelligent infinity, right?

yes, the results are colored by algorithms, similar to how tarot results are colored by artwork and a premade framework, on top of that I would argue that digital reality is probably easier for higher realms to influence than physical reality,

still, there is a feeling of winning the lottery involved when a image or song turns out in a way that unlocks a feeling I have not felt before…

I haven’t used AI in a creative capacity. I can only speak to the end product’s effect on me.

From how you describe it, it does spark something in you when using it as a tool which is what matters in your creative journey. It sounds like it becomes a kind of divinitory tool for you which I hadn’t thought of before.

I really does, even if it’s in waves, like most things in life, and yes, “a kind of tool for divination” does feel accurate on some level for me.
