Three body problem and other books by Cixin Liu

Hello,

I am new to this forum, and still reading books 4-5 by Ra, so apologies if I write/phrase something that is ignorant.

I have read the trilogy by Cixin Liu, and now started his other book, Ball lightning, and cannot shake off the feeling that his thoughts, ideas and wordings are much aligned with the Ra material. When I started reading the Ra material, it instantly clicked how it is similar to the Three body problem trilogy, especially the third book, Death’s end.

In his other, early novel, Ball lightning, just in the first few pages, there are multiple notions that are almost a reference to Ra’s teachings.

Anybody else read his works and had the same idea? I really enjoyed reading the Three body problem, and felt like it made more easy to comprehend the philosophy of Ra, as it was almost an example of how the dimensions work (of course with somewhat different rules of physics, but in general, the feel of it, is very similar).

With love,

Hello, and welcome.

I have read some of his books and am his ideas. Please pay attention to his “Dark Forest Law” theory, which is a very negative concept. The basic assumption is that the universe, like Earth, requires life to invade and conquer each other for resources. Once a civilization is revealed, it will immediately be conquered by a higher civilization.

Only when in a negative time/space can this Dark Forest theory be satisfied, until a pyramid-shaped power system is eventually formed through intense confrontation, much like many political systems today in earth. On the other hand, positive time/space is based on a network of relationships built on service to others and assistance centered around free will.

His theory is very confusing, so I did not continue to read further.

Hello LIghtYearsAhead and Wellcome too.

Interesting foo know and thank you too GoldenTriangle

Hello All and thanks for this answer, GoldenRTriangle!

I felt good reading about the negative approach, because it is a projection of our world here, Earth on to the whole universe, and showed how wicked and scary it would be. And there are a few good characters who are STO, and they have a great impact, because they never give up trying. It was kind of a relief for me, to see the behaviour of Earth today in a larger scale, not just analysed as it is, but brought to a larger scale example. Usually examples are smaller scale, which are easy to comprehend for educational purposes, but this is more impactful as a contrast, and easier to imagine where are the limits of Earth’s mechanism and shackle.
