Yaum: Good evening to you, my friends.
It is my privilege to have this opportunity to come among you. I know that your hour is getting late. I will not detain you very long.
As I understand it, your subject tonight was spiritual growth. I shall make a few remarks on this subject, but I will try to keep them brief.
Spiritual growth is a never ending process. Once one has started on the Path, it will lead one into many areas of study, knowledge and searching. Spiritual growth goes hand-in-hand with scientific growth. You cannot separate the spiritual and the scientific for it is all one and the same.
Spiritual growth is a search for Truth. As you reach greater heights in your search for Truth, you will find yourself going through continual changes. What is Truth for you today may be greatly changed tomorrow. You will find many times, as you go down the Path, that great changes will come about in a very short period. At other times, you will seem to have reached a plateau, where nothing seems to be moving or happening.
These times are also necessary. In these times, one must contemplate the learnings and the accomplishments of the past. Also, he must take stock of himself to see what he is doing with what he has accomplished, and to see whether he is getting the best out of it, using it to its fullest for his own benefit and the benefit of Mankind.
If one is to gain knowledge and understanding and keep it entirely for his own use, it will benefit him very little. So, as you go along the Path, you must learn to serve your fellow man, for you can only serve your Creator by serving your fellow man.
Great knowledge awaits those who are traveling the Path, and in these times, much of this knowledge is going to come rapidly when it starts to come. You will be expected to use this knowledge to build a new civilization that is as a civilization should be built upon the rock and not upon the sand.
Your present civilization has been built upon the sand. The storms are coming. They are washing away the sands and the house is beginning to crumble. For a civilization to stand, it has to be built upon a spiritual foundation of love, of understanding and of justice and peace, where man serves man to the glory of all men and therefore, to the glory of his Creator.
So, the Path of Spiritual Growth is not an easy path. You will be tried many times. You will find that you will have to prove your worthiness.
Man has never been handed these things for free. Everything must be paid for. Man must earn that which he receives. Great knowledge does not come without being earned, and it is earned by one’s sincerity in pursuit of it and what he is willing to sacrifice to receive it.
Earth man, by and large, has become bogged down in materialism. This is the god of your civilization. Your god can be whatever you make it, and the greatest god at the present time in your civilization is materialism.
Now, I do not mean to say that there is anything wrong with having the necessary things to exist in a three dimensional world, but as your great Master Jesus said, “If you put the Kingdom first, all of these things will be added.” If you put the material things first, eventually they will destroy you. You do not have to look far to see this happening to many of your people.
The pursuit of spiritual understanding and the spiritual light must be pursued upon a spiritual level. The Path is long and it is not easy. It requires a great amount of work and sacrifice, but the rewards are always worth the effort. I am sure that all of you who decide to follow this Path, in the end, will agree.
Now, I think I have taken enough of your time. It has been my pleasure to have spent this time with you. I wish to extend my gratitude to you for accepting me into your presence, and as I leave, I should like to extend to each of you my love and my blessings. I ask all of the Great Ones to send forth their love and blessings to each of you at this time.
Peace, my friends. Peace. Go in peace.
