Governmental & Societal Structures

Basically, in ancient China, the feudal society was built upon Confucianism, and the profound influence of Confucianism has permeated the national subconscious for thousands of years. During primary school, students are required to memorize Confucian works such as the Analects and the Standards for Being a Good Student and Child. Confucianism is a highly complex philosophy, and I only have a partial understanding, so I can only provide a general overview. Confucianism has its positive aspects, such as advocating for filial piety, benevolence, etiquette, kindness, and scholarship. However, during its development, Confucianism was distorted, gradually giving rise to negative hierarchical systems like the prioritization of rulers over subjects, fathers over sons, and husbands over wives, serving the needs of the ancient feudal social system. Additionally, the Book of Changes (Yijing) in Confucianism is a profoundly wise text. However, a characteristic of ancient Chinese texts is their tendency to present conclusions without documenting the reasoning or exploration process, making them difficult to comprehend.
