Hello fellow seekers,
I have a question for seekers who may be familiar with the parallels between Thelema and the Law of One.
While there is documentation of the respective magical links between the Golden Dawn/Thelema/O.T.O. and the Golden Dawn/Ra Material, I’m curious whether any direct connections between Thelema and the Law of One have been communicated, channeled, or discussed.
Additionally, are there any resources or perspectives that help explain why Thelemic philosophy and cosmology seem to resonate more with the Ra Material than with the more standard Confederation channelings?
I understand the transience of such historical linkages in the grand calculus of Cosmic Unity—but I would be grateful to fill in some of the gaps in my understanding of the Law, the Higher Self, and the Creator.
Many thanks, love, and light.
I’m not a native English speaker, so it’s hard for me to formulate an answer, but I’ll try. Ra’s answers are indeed closer to the Western esoteric tradition than conscious channeling. To be honest, I’m puzzling over it myself, why is this so? :). I recently suggested that Ra is more like a philosopher from the heyday of Alexandria in Egypt. The teachings of this philosopher absorbed much of the knowledge that was circulating at that time. In this Alexandrian “cauldron” the teachings of both the East and the West were melting. The Academy of Plato merges through Ammonius Sakkas with the teachings of Vedanta, with the teachings of the magicians of Zoroaster and the priests of Egypt, merging with the nascent Christianity of Alexandria. I can’t list everything, this is a very large cultural stratum. Knowledge flows from this “melting pot” into both the Western Christian world and the eastern Arab world. There is information about all this in the relevant specialized literature on the history of Western esotericism. Golden Dawn was founded by theosophists, Rosicrucians, and Freemasons, educated people whose interests lay in the field of non-academic science…I can’t write it in short. This story requires a text the size of a book)
During the sessions with Ra, Don and Carla read Crowley’s books

Much appreciated, Vasilisa. I will look into the Alexandran connection as that particularly sounds fascinating. Do you have any references as to what books of Crowley’s did the Ra Group came across in their journey?
I don’t remember exactly where Crowley’s books were mentioned, probably in Tilting at Windmills - L/L Research , but I can’t find the exact quote. Alexandria is described on wikipedia. Alexandria - Wikipedia
