OK, if one pays taxes and for that money they buy weapon to kill people is one responsible for that?
Oleksii: “OK, if one pays taxes and for that money they buy weapon to kill people is one responsible for that?”
That was weird the platform deleted your quote I put at the top of my post, like did it normally then changed the post and deleted that. So I edited and put it in.
Firstly, I will state that this is a specifically political question; taxation always will be the MOST political question. Even more so than war potentially. The rules say that we should not engage in politics here, but if the moderators felt a need to enforce this, then the correct thing to do would have been to delete the question before it is answered, not the response to said question imo. They have had four days to do so.
I apparently can’t resist a philosophical question. I pay attention to philosophy every day and listen to it enough to learn it. Not just to listen but to understand the concepts as much as possible.
Obviously this is my answer. I am not a heavenly creature that can give answers without nuance and the possibility of fallibility, these are my thoughts.
The interpreter.
The Law of One quote in question, or one of them, talks about a four year old becoming karmically liable. So the point here is that it is the Law of One contact has laid that down. I am attempting to interpret that because my personal perspective is that the Law of One is usually or always right. Some people might not take that viewpoint in reference to free will. But that is mine. So I am interpreting under a philosophical lense potentially, but not stating.
It quite frankly seems insane to me that a four year old is karmically liable. The Law of One contact did not say that they believed it was just that a four year old is karmically liable. Only that karmic law, i.e. what we might see as the will of the Creator, stated that as so.
So, to consider this, let’s draw a parallel with taxation on the one hand, and the four year old on the other. Taxation, in my understanding, is a violation of the non aggression principle. When toddlers start school they are taught not to aggress on others. You don’t just walk up to another toddler and beat him over the head because he has a toy you want. The same rules, karmically, could be applied to government. You don’t tell your citizens to pay up on the threat of arrest and death really. So taxation is a violation of the right of the individual. We have to start here, before we get to the individuals liability.
It is, I suppose, the equivalent of a four year old being beaten because of the incompetence of the adult. An adult that hasn’t gained the skills to discipline a child without violence. Or control their hedonistic need to express violence.
So if a four year old is beaten by an adult what karmic liability do they have? That is the basic question and the child should be innocent, so it makes no sense. But we can go further.
Choices.
When people are transgressed upon. They usually have two choices. They can go with the will of the abuser, or they can oppose the will of the abuser. A four year old does not have that choice because the abuser can kill them. They have to enable the abuser to survive. But I suppose, if the four year old does enable the abuser, the issues and justifications that they develop will make them the aggressor when they get older. However subtle this is.
I don’t think the word karma is suitable to explain mechanics as complicated as this perhaps the Law of One was held up by the simplicity of our language?
So, one example of this might be that a child that grows up being called to be responsible and punished if they both lie or tell the truth. So, “did you steal the muffin”. Yes, brings punishment, and No brings punishment later when it is found out. Obviously in more complex matters they learn to answer somewhere in between. They learn to constantly fog.
That fog then is frustrating for others and denies them and others the experience of emotional intimacy and authenticity in their relationships, it is also the denial of accountability. So it is subtle, but it has becomes aggressive, and it has a negative effect on other beings. It also reflects out into the world and creates misery not just for the individual, but for others, and eventually those others will make that persons life more difficult. We are not usually on the top of the heirarchy and able to avoid the effect of other powerful individuals and people in that persons life that are not abusers, so don’t get off on the vagueness expressing fear, will turn on them and treat them badly. Divorce, not being able to make intelligent friends so being stuck with other losers etc.
Taxation.
In the example that you gave of taxation on the individual. I would say it is the same issue. The person can be taxed and then consciously oppose evil doers. Or they can be taxed and go along with it. If they take the second route it will create similar complex situations which bring karma down on the individual. For instance, quality people in the persons life might not be comfortable with those that support the initiation of force on those they disagree with. Like in lockdown, certain people aligned with the establishment and left wanted to put others who disagreed with their pro totalitarian medical treatment views in camps to assure compliance. This kind of pig headedness is the assurance of isolation and the lack of love. Because people that comply can’t experience love. Because there is no individuality to love. If someone is a mix of viewpoints told to them by others, they have no individuality that is being expressed.
So that’s what I would think is the situation there. The karma of responding to a violation of the non aggression principle is based on if this violation is supported or opposed. This would not take into account where the money was going I don’t think. Since the individual has zero control over that. Even if it was going to something that seems more ethical it would still have resulted from the violation of the non aggression principle.
There are some exceptions to this I believe like, certain women that have to stay on good terms with other women in relation to child rearing might not have the freedom to oppose taxation as a concept. Since even though it is somewhat consequentialist, it is obviously a larger priority to make sure that children are well taken care of than in the abstract and unchangeable facts of political tyranny. But in relation to pure karmic law, these are my thoughts on how it works.
2nd edit:
(2nd Edit, (the platform has marked 3 edits due to adding one after it deleted the quote): Your question also referenced the karmic liability of the aggressor. I.e. the forces initiating the use of force to turn Ukraine into a meat grinder. I’m not going to address that part of the question because it is a creepy hellscape.
I do have a subjective belief I have no proof of that there is a hell somewhere where people are ripped to shred by demons day after day. Like in Constantine.)
3rd edit:
I just had a realisation this relates to the Law of Free will. I believe the Law of One mentioned in relation to evangelism that if the transgression of free will is desired there is no karma.
In the West people resist taxation to be sent over to Ukraine - because it is a globalist agenda that doesn’t help the West. So since it goes against the desires of those Westerners it is a violation of free will which is why the deep state prefers to produce lies making it seem morally defensible.
But in Russia, if your money is going even though it is a violation of the NAP, to prevent Nato from putting Nukes next to your country there might be some that find that to be an honourable cause so perhaps in that case free will is not violated.
Just an idea but I think it makes sense!
I do not agree you can detach politics from non-politics. Three days ago I woke up because some rocket blasted right near my house. Probably you want to say it’s another space of responsibility that does not not connect to the space of complete responsibility or just there’s no responsibility there and such things are happening by their own without human intervention. As for me I cannot live in such split state of consciousness.
