Meaning, learn/ teach, cheerfulness/ anxiety, subjective/ objective (most confusing of all!) responsibility/ honour. As some examples in the Law of One. In session 5 they talked about how on the path of healing it is important to be aware of opposites.
Some that I have heard from elsewhere. Not my own insights;
This dual wording concept is one of the thing I like most about the Ra material.
Because, for example with teach/learning, there is no escaping that we are learning while we are teaching. This is not something that had occurred to me before reading the Law of One. We are not taught to think that way.
It highlights the ever present subtleties that are so easy to miss while incarnated here. Whatever we express, it is actually taking place on a spectrum between two seeming opposites. But when we say: āI love youā, we would likely not say: āI hate you just an extremely little bitā.
I would say perhaps that these spectrums are about congruence in opposites. The congruence is important because no position on such a spectrum is more or less important than any other location on that spectrum. 75%Honor/25%Duty is not in anyway more or less important than 51%Duty/49%Honor. The importance of both of these experiences is the same, but of course the experiencing of it is different to us.
Seems to me thereās something in this approach to qualities on a spectrum that prefigures balancing ā specifically, the balancing exercise. When we perform it and realize, as Ra says, that we have both what we presently feel and its opposite within us, then we realize several things potentially. 1. The emotion is not a trap, but an invitation to a wholeness within us. 2. We donāt need to pretend that the cause of the emotion our minds often clumsily ascribe to some discrete event is binding on us. We are free to feel, not forced to.
You know, this is an entirely new perspective to me. My use of it so far has been entirely to gain insight into emotions in general.
Like much of the Law of One, I consider it to be information that is kind of āalienā and āadvancedā in a sense. I donāt know whether hate would be linked to love for me. The responsibility/ honour thing is for instance, that a thing is both at the same time. A good example I heard of this is of a man having a family. it is a responsibility to deal with the wife and children daily, to provide for them etc. in a traditional sense. It is also an honour. Like, most men that do it I think like doing it. So it is both. Is it also an opposite? Is responsibility and honour opposite to each other? You might think that if you were to separate them like āIt is a responsibility to take the garbage out, it is an honour to be given an award.ā But ultimately, I do not know. Some of the dual terms the contact used were very clearly opposites. āStrength/ Weaknessāā was another one I had not recalled in my previous post.
In the original discussion on this the contact used the term āWhere you have patience within yourself, you must find impatienceā. I thought that was deliberately chosen, because in our every day running of things, we do not ascribe even potential virtue to impatience. So we are then to actively seek the non virtuous emotion. It is very opposed to some of the love and light pretences of some of the kinds of people who always present themselves as perfect and reliably have the flat out darkest skeletons in their closet.
